I Am Confused. Please help ! { little Lovely Tales } 2020

I Am Confused. Please help !

My best friend is ignoring me this year : I feel angry and unhappy about it, but I  Still think of her as my best friends. Why is she doing this to me? I am confused. Please help!

Expert advice from senior friends !

Hmmm ! Don't we all feel this some time or other ? Don't worry. Let's see what we can do. First, please think about it without getting upset. Is she really ignoring you ? What are the things that you used to do together, but don't do any more ? For example : sitting on the same bench, having your tiffin together, coming to school or going back home together and so on. If you still do most of these things together, you may be wrong in thinking that she is ignoring you. You can talk to her about it. Find out if you have hurt her in some way, if there is a misunderstanding and that is why she is not as warm towards you as she was before. If that is so, you can simply say sorry and she will immediately be friends with you again.

Has she made new friends ? Is that what is making you feel a little jealous and sad ? Well, you can always be friends with her new friends ! Your friend may appreciate it.

If your last year's best friends has really started ignoring you without any reason, do not keep brooding about it. You can make friends with others. Maybe after a few days, your old friend will also be close to you, once again.

He used to go to a nearby market and give offerings to the deity. Once, he took two bananas to the market. When he was about to enter into the market , a sanyasi stopped him and said, " I am so hungry. Can you give me something to eat ?" Ram gave the two bananas to the sanyasi without hesitation. The sanyasi asked, "What will you offer to the deity now?" Ram answered, "If these bananas can quench your hunger, that too is a service to God."

The sanyasi was very pleased with the honesty and kindness of Ram that he bestowed many boons upon him and made him a very rich man. Even then, Ram continued his charity.

Swans And Hunters

A long time ago, there was a jungle. It had a lake in it. There was a huge tree near the lake. The swans used to live on that tree. The other birds used to live on several other trees. But the swans used to remain on only this one tree. At sunrise, they used to travel far for their food. They would return to their nests after sunset. They were living happily. One day, an old swan saw a creeper under the tree. He said to the others, "Hey friends ! Let's destroy this creeper today itself. If this creeper grows further, it will be a danger to our lives. The young swans replied, "Dear Uncle, the creeper looks cute. The air will be cooler as well, due to it." The old swan said again, "Yon are wrong my friends! If that creeper spreads. it will get stronger even more. Some hunters can easily climb the tree. Isn't it a danger ?"

But nobody paid attention to him. The creeper grew soon and reached the top of the tree. Tree leaves and creeper got mixed up in each other. Some hunters soon started fixing nets to various trees in the jungle. But the birds did not go to the trees having nets fixed and therefore, the hunters could not catch the birds. The hunters were fed up now. They returned back after four-five days. As they reached the lake, they saw the swans' tree and fixed their nets there. They said, "This is a huge tree. Let's try in catching some birds from this tree, at least."

The swans returned back to their tree after wandering in Search of food, the whole day. As soon as they sat on the trees, they got stuck in the nets. All the swans got stuck in the nets. The old swan said," Look, what has happened now!" The swans started babbling. They got anxious thinking of the escape from the nets, They were still making a lot of noise. The old swan said to all, "Please listen to me. Nobody will move when the hunters arrive tomorrow."

'What would happen by that ?" - The young swans asked.

He replied, "If we remain unmoved, the hunters will think that we are dead and release us from the net and throw us away. Even then no one will move. We will Pretend to be dead. We shall fly only after everybody gets released and thrown . Got it ?"

Everybody ought to listen to the old swan. The hunters arrives the next morning. They saw many swans in the nets. They got very happy and they approached the tree. As they came near the tree, they noticed that the swans are stuck in the nets, but nobody is moving. They may have died. They came up the tree, released the nets and threw the swans on the ground. Some of the swans got hurt after they got thrown, but nobody moved, as per the plan. As soon as all the swans got released and thrown down, the old swan ordered, "Let's fly!"

Now everyone in the society decided that they will talk to uncle about it. May be he has not realized it. So the Chairman and secretary of the Society went to his home. Uncle said, "Oh! What a surprise! What brings you to my home ? Please tell me about your work ?" The Secretary said, "Uncle, we have a request for you. "

       "What request ?" asked Uncle.

The Secretary told the reason of their visit. But uncle got very angry. He said, "I will not cut my trees. They are like my children. Forget about cutting branches. I will not allow anyone to pluck even one leaf. My trees are so pretty .... how can I make them ugly ? Trees make the place around you wonderful. They give me so much pleasure. Can't you see my happiness ?" They suddenly heard a loud noise, while they were talking. Somebody was screaming. All of them came out to see what had happened. They saw an accident.

A School bus was passing near the wall. A small girl took her head out of the window. One of the branches hit her eyes badly. She was in pain. She was crying and screaming. The bus driver took her to the nearest hospital. What would happen to her eyes ? She may lose her eyesight and become blind. She would be punished for no fault of hers.

Our hobby should not be a nuisance to others. Everybody thought so, and was angry on uncle. Sometimes people are very adamant and don't think about others.

Smartness Of A Crab

There was a beautiful village. It was called as "Tslegaon". Since it ha many lakes around it . It was surrounded by many trees because of the lakes.  In one such lake, lived many fishes, tortoises and crabs. Fishes were of many colours. It was beautiful to see them swim. Young boys from that village, used to sit by the lake. And, they used to watch the funny games of fish.  A stork lived near that lake. He used to eat a fish or two, from the lake. So, he was healthy and happy.

After some years he got old. He could not catch the fish to eat easily, due to his old age. Fishes used to slip from his grip. He thought about it and got an idea. The next day, he was sitting by the lake. Seeing him in sad mood, a tortoise came up and asked him, "What happened sir ? Why are you so sad ?" There were many fishes and crabs around. Seeing them, the stork said, "I am worried of these fishes. Soon, some fishermen will set up nets and catch them all."

Listening to this, the fishes asked him, "Will we all die ? Please suggest us any way to save ourselves." "I am thinking of the same ". answered the stork happily. He said, "You can do one thing. I will take two - three of you to the other lake that is located a little farther from here. I cannot make too many trips". "Yes ! But what if you eat us in the midway?.....". asked a clever fish. "I am worried about you. Hence I am helping you and you are doubting me? Okay. I'll take only one or two of you from here and then shall bring them back again.  Is it okay ?" said the stork, pretending to be a naïve. Clever fish said, 'Okay. Take two of us." The stork wanted the same thing. He gripped the fish into his beak. He released the fish to the farther lake. After that, he took another fish into the same lake. After the fish enjoy some rounds in the lake, the stork asked them, "Do you like this lake now ? Let's go back now."

He took them back to their original lake and he went away quickly. Here, the two of them started describing the new, bigger lake. They told the others, "We shall be able to live there, happily." Now, the other fishes became reckless o go to the new lake. Next day, they started requesting the stork to lake them to the new lake, But the stork had told already that he will be taking only four or five of them.

Every day, he used to take three-four of the fishes, stop by a rock and eat them in the midway. He ate many fishes by this way. After some days, some boys were passing by the lake. From their conversation, a crab got to know that only this lake had fishes. And these are also less in number now. He thought, "How to ask this to the stork?" While thinking of this, he had one idea. The next day, he said to the stork, "Sir please take me to the new lake. I am missing he others." The stork got happy thinking that he would get a feast of crab meat today.

He said, "Yes! Why not?" and picked the crab. The crab sat on his back. The stork started flying into the high air. There were no signs even after travelling some distance. So, asked the crab, "Sir how far is the new lake?" "It's near the rock below...", saying this, the stork started coming down. Near the rock, the crab saw some fish bones. Now the crab understood the slyness of the stork. From the back, he came on to the neck of the stork and grabbed his neck into his claws.

The stork was helpless now. He collapsed while landing. After seeing him dead, the crab came back to his lake. And, he explained the incident to all. The smartness of the crab saved everyone's life. The remaining fish lived happily ever after.

Result Of Stupidity

Many years ago, King Jagadish ruled "Kambalpur". Jagadish was greedy about gold treasury, right from his childhood. He was ready to do anything for the benefit of his subjects. But the neighboring Kingdoms were more prosperous. He used to feel bad about this,. He wanted to be the richest of all Once he want for hunting in a jungle. He was thinking of a prey in such think woods. Suddenly, he saw an antelope passing by. The arrow released by Jagadish hit the target and antelope collapsed because of it.

Before Jagadish could see the prey obtained in the very beginning of the hunting, there appeared a demigod or yaksha in place of the antelope. The King got astonished. The demigod said to him, "I got released from a curse because of you. What do you want ? You can demand anything you want !"

King had never expected this. He got little confused. But, after some time, he said to the demigod, "I  demand a wish that, everything I touch, will turn to gold." Hearing this, the demigod said, " Hey King, think on it for a while. I can wait. But be careful of your wish." The King was fantasizing everything golden and was picturing himself richer than the other Kings. So, he said, " I am right about my wish. "The demigod replied, "Please think again. Or else you will have to regret later. "But the King was firm with his decision.

The King was still firm about his decision. Finally, said the demigod "As you wish! Tathastu! You wish will come true. The thing that you touch will turn into gold!" Then he left. King Jagadish got really happy. He left for the palace. While leaving, to check the wish, he touched a tree. What a wonder! As soon as the King touched the tree, it turned, into gold. The King got really happy. 'Now, I shall be having more gold than anyone else. This tree has turned to gold. Similarly, the other things will also turn into gold, as I  touch them. No one has a bigger golden tree than this one', he returned to his palace with these thoughts.

As the King returned to the place, the meal was ready. He sat down for lunch. He touched a plate. It turned golden. Then he took a jar to drink water. It also turned into gold. The King became very happy. None must be having so  many golden things like me. Now he touched the meal. And as he was about to take a bite, the ,meal turned into gold, He could not even take his lunch. Water also turned into gold, as he touched it. He had to get off the table. Suddenly his lovely princess came running to him.

But the King lost his joy of like. The King became unhappy because of his stupidity. He put himself into a danger because of his stupidity.

Eklavya's Determination

Some tribal people or Bheels used to live in a thick jungle. As they lived in the jungle, they survived by hunting animals and birds. All the Bheels learnt archery since their childhood. There was a young boy named Eklavya amongst them, He wanted to become the master of archery. As he was passionate about it, he was in search of training. He got to know about Dronacharys, who taught archery. Dronacharya stayed in Hastinapur, and trained the Kaurav and the Pandav brothers.

He went to meet Dronacharya to learn archery from him. He asked him bravely, "Hey master, I am Eklavya. Please take me as your trainee. I have come to learn archery from you....."

Looking at him, Dronacharya asked him "Who are you ?"

Eklavya answered modestly, "I am a young tribal boy, a Bheel. I live in the woods nearby!" "I teach archery only to the Kings and Princes. You are not a Prince. So, I cannot take you as my student." Eklavys felt bad listening to this. He resolved, 'I shall be a master of archery and I will learn this art only from Dronmacharya.'

He created a statue of Master Dronacharya. There was a dense banyan tree nearby. It had a round elevated base. He established the statue onto it. This statue was to become his Master Dronacharya. He used to get up in the Morning, get ready and bow before the statue. Then he started learning archery. He assumed that the Master is teaching him by paying attention towards him. He practiced with this faith.

He used to think, 'the Master it teaching me, so I shall have to learn to be accurate.' Soon, he started aiming accurately. He became skilled because of his practice every day. Even then, he did not consider himself to be an expert. After some days. Master Dronacharya arrived in the jungle with his students, for hunting. They also had a hunter dog with them. Eklavya was practicing at the same time. The dog stated baring towards him.

Eklavya immediately aimed at the dog and released an arrow. The arrow got stuck in the mouth of the dog. He released six arrows one after another. Dog's mouth got shut because of the arrows. But there was not even a single drop of blood from its mouth. The dog got frightened and went towards the Master and the princes. Everyone was amazed watching his condition. The arrows were stuck into the mouth, but there was no blood. Master Dronacharya said, "Seems like, there is some expert archer! "

They found Eklavya practicing, as they were in search of the archer. Master Dronacharya asked him, "Did you shut the mouth of our dog with your arrows ?" Eklavya recognized Dronacharya. He bowed at him and said, "Yes Sir!" "Who taught you this art ? What is his name ?" asked the Master.  Eklavya pointed to the statue and said, "He is my Master! He teaches me archery !"

Observing the statue, Master Dronacharya said, "This is my statue !" Eklavya replied, "Yes! I have regarded you as my tutor and I could learn the art because of your merciful teachings. " Looking at Eklavya's faith and trust, Master felt respect for him. But thought that this boy will beat Kaurav and Pandav.

After thinking for awhile, he said to Eklavya, "Now you must pay me my fees or Guru Dakshina, as a sign of respect." Eklavya got happy hearing this. He immediately said, "Yes Sir! Please say, how should I reward you and pay my respect?" Dronacharys asked for his right thumb as a reward. Without thinking much, immediately he cut his right thumb and handed over to the Master.

Everyone, including Droncharya, was astonished, watching his act of paying respect. Dronacharya said to him, "Eklavya, This sigh of respect is a sacrifice in itself. Your sacrifice will be remembered till the end of the time. You will be considered as the Maestro of archery. I bless you cordially!"

         Eklavya bowed at his teacher.

River And Wall

Once upon a time, a big country had a state called Avanti. It had a very large river. It was so huge that it appeared like an ocean. Many times, the river used to get flooded. The water used to enter the cities. Lives used to get destroyed because of it. The King had build a strong wall to protect from floods. The state was saved because of it. It was an evening in winter. A boy named Hemant, was passing by the wall. Hemant was around twelve-thirteen years of age. He felt a little moisture on the road. He got worried thinking about it.

As he was observing the moisture, he learnt that it was because of the wall. Upon searching the wall, he observed a hole on the protective wall of the river. He concluded that the water must be entering from the hole. He started to think of a solution. He thought 'This hole may enlarge soon, due to the water pressure. Water may enter the city. It will ruin everything.' He shouted to call for people. But there was nobody around. His voice was not very loud as well. He inserted pen, pencil etc. that he had with him. But all of that was thrown out. He also inserted a small handkerchief, but it was also thrown out.

Finally, he lied down near the wall and he inserted his finger in the hole. There was water pressure from the other side. Still Hemant managed to keep that finger in the hole. He felt a joy even in this condition, He continued lying down by the wall, even thought it was getting dark.

He remembered his mother's love, father's kindness and warmth. But he continued to lie down there itself, with endurance. Soon, he fell asleep. His parents got worried since he did not return home that night. His father started searching for him. They found him near that wall. He was unconscious. While lifting him up, everybody saw his finger stuck in he hole.

If Hemant had not done this, that hole would have grown bigger. That would have led to a flood situation. People would have drowned. There would have been a great loss. People understood all these things. They admired his courage and resourcefulness.

Faith Creates Miracles

Adi used to take his bath in the river Ganga or Ganges every day. He used to wake up at dawn for this. This was his daily routine. One day as he was bathing, he saw a youth watching him. He was standing on the opposite bank of the river. He looked bright. Their eyes met across the river. The youth bowed down respectfully with folded hands. Adi accepted his greeting. 'Come here' He signaled to that young man. 'My salutation has been received. This means he has made me his student. Now he is my teacher (Guru). My Guru has called me. How can I refuse ? I must obey my teacher.'

But here was a problem. There was no boat to cross the river. The student could not swim either! The student did not know what to do. He was confused. Then a though came to his mind. This body has died a thousand times. What if I die again on the way to meet my Guru ? It will be for my well-being.

Now there was no confusion in him. He would definitely follow his guru's instructions. 'He chanted joyously as he stepped into the Ganga River. And then a miracle occurred. Suddenly a lotus appeared in the water under his foot! As he stepped further another lotus
bloomed below his foot. He stepped on, from one flowers to another. Thus he crossed the river. He reached his Guru. His Guru embraced him. He made him his chief disciple. He named him Padma. Faith can create miracles. The absolute trust of the student in his Guru led to this wonder.

He was determined to obey his teacher He was not afraid to die. Such people are helped by Nature herself. The river produced lotus flowers to take along the disciple to his guru. A strong belief in God can make anything possible. This is called a marvel. If you have the guidance of your Guru, your life is blessed.

Flowers Of Devotion

Ram wanted to see God very much  Ram! He needed beautiful flowers for this. He was convinced this was the only way to meet God. This crazy thought kept him worried since morning. Narhari baba had left for the town in the morning. It would evening before he returned. Ram  had an idea. The King's garden! Yes! He was sure it would full of beautiful flowers. He was possessed with that thought. He quickly set out for the garden. He reached the entrance gate. There were guards. They would not let him go in. What was he to do now ? He took a round of the garden from outside . He saw a sewer or water channel near the garden. He entered the garden through that.

He saw a garden of matchless beauty. He was overjoyed. There were rows of flowers. The garden had butterflies, bees and birds. He was delighted by this sight. He picked the flowers from the flowers bed. He kept them on a platform around a tree. He then tried to create a form of God. He would arrange the flowers. And then re-arrange them. He was confused. He would replace yellow flowers with red. Then red flowers were changed to white by him. But he was not satisfied. He could not obtain a pleasing form of God.

He Suddenly remembered something. God eyes were lotus shaped. Now he searched the garden for lotus flowers. There was a scenic pond nearby. It had beautiful lotus blossoms. He tried to pluck the flowers. But the stems were tough to break. He pulled hard. He lost his balance and slipped into the pond. He didn't know how to swim. Water entered his mouth and nose. He tried to save himself. But it was of no use.

"Help! Help!" he shouted. The guards came running. They wondered who was calling out. They found a little boy nearly drowning in water. They managed to get him out. He had swallowed a lot of water. They thumped his chest to take out the water. "This is the same boy!" exclaimed a guard. "We did not let him enter the garden." Who was this boy? Why did he enter the garden? Whose son was he? So many questions were asked. The guards took the child to Narhari Baba. Ram was scared. He started crying. He was afraid of Narhari Baba.

It was evening. Narhari Baba had just returned. The guards told him the full story of Ram. The boy had stolen flowers. Ram was ashamed. He was weeping. The guards left the boy with Narhari Baba. Ram fell at his feet and said, 'Please forgive me Baba! I did not go to the garden to rob. I only wanted to see the Lord's face. "By stealing flowers ?" Baba asked. Ram replied, "Baba, you told me pretty flowers would create the Lord's face. Where else can I get them ? They are only seen in the King's garden. That's why __________"

Baba stopped him from talking further. "Oh my child! How will the Lord be seen in stolen flowers ? Do you really want to see God ? Then let flowers of devotion fill your mind. Through those flowers you will definitely see God. It is a sin to steal."

The little boy learnt his lesson.
