The Courageous Deed Worth Considering For Bravery Award

On the 16th of this month, people eye witnessed an incident that made them understand the true meaning of courage. Sujeet  15- year -old son of the village cobbler, had gone to the lake near the local quarry to play. Suddenly he heard loud screams for help. He turned round to see that there were two children in the lake, struggling to keep their heads above water. He saw a woman,  who was their mother, jumping into the river to save her children. Without a second thought, Sujeet ran and jumped into the water and swam towards the children. With one arm around each child. he pushed his way towards the shore. Some villagers who had heard the screams came to the spot and one of them dived into the water towards  the mother, Somehow he managed to bring her to the shore. Sujeet's action can only be considered as selfless and heroic. Without any thought of his own life or risk, he responded to the situations quickly and managed to save two precious lives. Indeed he should be considered for the National Bravery Awards for children.

Tiger attacks 8 Year old at Rajiv Gandhi National Park.

Recently tiger attacks on humans have become frequent in the nearby areas of Rajiv Gandhi National Park.  A tragic death of 8 year old child attacked by a tiger has shocked the people in a slum area near the Rajiv Gandhi National Park. It is learnt that early in the morning the child, entered alone in the wildlife reserve for defecation. The tiger crouching behind a fence of bushes attacked the young child and killed him. Slum dwellers gathered around to rescue him could not save him.

The slum - dwellers are demanding the Forest Department to arrange for rigorous patrols to restrict such incidents of human - animal conflicts and construct a boundary wall between the human - habitats and the Park.

The importance of birds and animals in our lives

This morning on my way to school I saw a young boy throwing stones at a dog. When I asked him why, he said that it was a use less animals. It is this kind of a tendency that has led to the extinction of so many animals, birds and fishes on our planet.

Many of us have very wrong ideas about the importance of animals and birds in our lives. There is no doubt that they play a very crucial role. They are nature's scavengers and get rid of the pests that may harm us. They keep the food chain in proportion. They help in pollination and the growth of new plants. There are birds that eat harmful insects. There are birds that suck nectar from flowers and help in pollination. Imagine if there were no owls. Then we would have an abundance of rats and mice in our cities and towns, and no pied piper would be able to get rid of them.

Every animal or bird that exists on the earth is a link in the balance of our ecosystem. Take away one animal or bird and that link would be broken. This would spell disaster for the earth. Hence it is very necessary to preserve every kind of species of animals or bird on this planet. It is up to us, human beings,  to take care of our furry and feathered friends. Only in this way we can ensure the safe future of our planet Earth.

I do hope that I have been able to impress upon you in some way, the need for us to be more considerate towards the other forms of life that coexist around us.

Taking care of an Injured Bird

MY Friend Kunal and I were playing in the backyard of our house. we heard a painful cry of a bird from the nearby bush. Both of us ran there. We found that a small bird was lying in the bush motionless. One of its Wings was slightly moving. Somebody must have pelted it with a stone. It was injured.

We tenderly picked it up from the bush and found that one of its wings was bleeding. I brought it to my house and put some drops of water in its beak to drink. I put some food grains before him. He looked a little fresh then. It moved a little.

We examined it and applied antiseptic ointment to its injured wing. Then we dressed its wing carefully without hurting it. It was looking comfortable and eat some grains. We kept it in a small basket with cotton spread in it. We shall keep it there for two-three days till it is completely cured and then we shall free it to fly in the sky.

The Bird I Like Most : Peacock

I love birds but the bird I like most is peacock. It is our national bird. It is a symbol of the pride, beauty and glory of our nation. The peacock is a large, graceful bird with long tail and long neck. It has lovely hues. It has lovely dark blue and green shining feathers. Each feather has a heart-shaped spot ringed with blue, green, gold and brown. They are called eyes. The male bird has a crest on its head. We can see the peacock dancing, spreading its beautiful plumage before the rains. It can fly but up to limited height. It is an interesting fact that some of the ragas of Indian classical music are based on the shrill cries of the peacock.

The peacock eats grain, seeds, shoots, flowers, insects and worms. It is also the enemy of snakes. The female bird is called peahen and it lays 4 to 8 eggs in the nest on the ground. The new-born pea chicks grow fast and live about 30 years. The peacock has a special place in our arts, songs and stories.

      It is my favorite bird

Man's Best Friends-Birds and  Animals

The relations between birds, animals and man are complementing each other. In absence of this relationship our environment is disturbed and we risk our whole balance of ecology in our area. That is Why, man must treat the birds and animals with great love and affection. They are our best friends. They are loyal to man and serve us in many ways. We must preserve our eternal relationship kindly, honestly and compassionately. So it is our duty to protect them; take care of their security without hurting them.

It is our duty to maintain this relationship because they cannot speak. They try to explain their feelings without words. Their eyes and actions speak. Try to understand them with love, affection and help them in their needs. Man needs the company of birds and animals. Love the Wildlife and avoid loneliness. Protect them!
